Emily Burns has released a new video for ‘My Town’: “It’s a metaphor for loneliness”

She's an EP on the way too, and a November tour.

Emily Burns has released a new video for ‘My Town’, the title-track of her upcoming EP.

The clip was inspired by Emily’s take on loneliness, and it arrives ahead of a winter UK tour which will see her play shows in Tunbridge Wells, London, Bristol, Glasgow and Manchester.

“Whenever I tell people I’m from Rugby, the most common response is “Oh I pass through it on the train,” Emily says of the track. “9/10 times, people have heard of Rugby and may have stopped at the train station, but it isn’t really a place people go to visit or stay in. ‘My Town’ is a song about just that… people coming and going but never staying. It’s a metaphor for loneliness. It’s more than just about Rugby town, it’s about my life and my heart.”

Check out ‘My Town’ below, and find her tour dates after the jump.

Emily Burns will play:

NOVEMBER
12 The Forum, Tunbridge Wells
13 Dingwalls, London
15 Rough Trade, Bristol
16 The Garage (Attic Bar), Glasgow
17 Soup Kitchen, Manchester
