Glastonbury co-organizer Emily Eavis has revealed that she has backup plans in case Arctic Monkeys are unable to perform at this year’s festival.

The band recently cancelled their Dublin show due to frontman Alex Turner’s acute laryngitis. Eavis has reassured fans that they are confident the band will play, but they are prepared with backup options just in case.

“I think we are going to be all right,” she said. “They’ve cancelled that [Dublin show], he’s recovering. I’m sure we’re going to be all right.”

“We’ve got a couple of backup plans if not. We’ve always got backup plans for everything.”

While she didn’t reveal who the replacement might be, fans are speculating that Foo Fighters could take their place. The US rock band is rumoured to be behind a mysterious act named The Churnups, who are slated to perform on the Pyramid Stage before Arctic Monkeys tomorrow (Friday 23rd June).
