FACE have announced their debut EP, and dropped new track ‘Cry’

  • Dork News Desk
  • November 7, 2017
London-via-Glasgow newcomers FACE will release their debut EP later this month.

Titled ‘yesplease’, it’s due on 24th November via AOA/Warners, and comes preceded by lead single ‘Cry’ – an optimistic guitar pop tune about ignoring the haters.

Lead singer David says of the track and upcoming EP:

“I guess you could say ‘Cry’ is our “fuck you” song to all the people in the world near and far who judge you, criticise you, pull you down or who try to hold power over you in any way. We wrote this in a perpetual state of fed up-ness at the world around us. We are served daily offerings of corruption and darkness straight onto our TV screens and smart phones to keep us from thinking for ourselves. Time is up. We’ve had enough. Power to the people, people.

“We made a video for ‘Cry’ which we felt was fitting in the sense that nowadays our culture is dominated by the likes of The Voice and The X Factor. So we wanted to make a talent show video of our own with a twist… What happened to kids getting together with their mates and rocking out in their mam’s spare room. Nowadays kids are taught to compete against their fellow brothers and sisters in a bid to have the best voice or jacket or hair or whatever else which doesn’t matter. They are forgetting the fundamental point of being an artist in the first place. Which is to create something from nothing because the desire is so strong within you that you have to let it out or be consumed by it! It’s evident that our pop charts nowadays are void of any art and everything is just aimed at this Ronald McDonald society we have created for ourselves.

“We release our debut EP called ‘YESPLEASE’ at the end of November. We knew if we were going to release a record it was always going to be honest and true to where we are at as people. We have had what’s felt like a slow motion battle against the odds so it feels nice to finally get our EP out there. We recorded it all live in a room out in Los Angeles as we wanted it to sound how we do live.”
