After a bunch of teasing and speculation, Fall Out Boy have given another hint to their imminent comeback. In a note sent to their email list, the band revealed they have been hard at work in the studio for the past year, and teased “more than a gold watch” coming our way next year.
“We spent the last year jamming ideas in a tiny room [and] can’t wait to share them with you,” it reads. “Thanks for always sticking around. Thanks for working the beat. Spoiler alert: we got more than a gold watch coming for you next year.”

The news comes after the band dropped several hints and teasers in recent months, including an animated video, a full-page ad in the Chicago Tribune, and postcards to fans. This year marks the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough studio album ‘Take This to Your Grave’, and the four-piece seem to be pulling out all the stops for their eighth studio album.
The band’s last full-length was 2018’s MANIA, and in 2019 they released a greatest hits collection before postponing their ‘Hella Mega Tour’ with Green Day and Weezer due to the pandemic.
