FKA Twigs has dropped her much anticipated new track.
Titled ‘Cellophane’, it’s her first song in three years, and kicks off a run to a second album expected later this year.
Five years on since the release of debut full-length ‘LP1’, we’ve had 2015’s ‘M3LL155X’ EP since, as well as the odd appearance in various short films and ads. Her last new material proper was 2016’s ‘Good To Love’.
Clocking in at around three and a half minutes, you can stream ‘Cellophane’ alongside an Andrew Thomas Huang directed video below.
As FKA Twigs explains in a tweet, she learned to pole-dance in order to film the video, based on a “visual narrative” which came to her “immediately” after writing it over a year ago.
when I wrote cellophane over a year ago a visual narrative came to me immediately, I knew I had to learn how to pole-dance to bring it to life, and so that’s what I did. thank you @Andrew_T_Huang, for elevating my vision beyond words. you are a visionary.
