Florence + the Machine has released the single she was teasing earlier this week, ‘Hunger’.
The track accompanies news of her new album, which as per the rumours, is called ‘High As Hope’ and is coming on 29th June.
“This song is about the ways we look for love in things that are perhaps not love,” says Florence of ‘Hunger’, “and how attempts to feel less alone can sometimes isolate us more. I guess I made myself more vulnerable in this song to encourage connection, because perhaps a lot more of us feel this way than we are able to admit. Sometimes when you can’t say it, you can sing it.”
Florence Welch’s collective have a support slot for the Stones in London on 25th May, preceded by intimate shows in Scunthorpe, Halifax and London’s Royal Festival Hall:
MAY
5 Halifax, Victoria Theatre
6 Scunthorpe, Baths Hall
8 London, Royal Festival Hall
25 London, London Stadium (w/ The Rolling Stones)
