Florence Welch is busy at the moment. Not content with her teased appearance on a new Jack Ü track, she’s also moonlighting with Rufus Wainwright.
The singer takes a guest spot on Wainwright’s new album ‘Take All My Loves: 9 Shakespeare Sonnets’ – which, pretty obviously, features nine of Shakespeare’s Sonnets performed by actors and musicians. Others taking part include Helena Bonham Carter, Carrie Fisher and William Shatner.
Released on April 22nd, Welch appears on Sonnet 29, ‘When in Disgrace with Fortune and Men’s Eyes’. You can hear a snippet below.
Speaking of the project, Wainwright said in a press release: “For me, recording this album has been a marriage made in heaven, as it combines my love of classical music with my love of pop music. It’s literally historically fun.”
Good one, Rufus.
