Franc Moody have dropped their new smooth-groover, ‘Flesh and Blood’.
Filmed by the band individually during lockdown, it’s from the band’s debut album, ‘Dream In Colour’.
The band explain: “[We] made ‘Flesh and Blood’ in part to explore this slower BPM, and uncover a new side to the project. Daft Punk’s ‘Something About Us’ and Childish Gambino’s ‘Redbone’ have always been influences in terms of groove and sonics, and this tune in some ways is a bit of a homage to those feels. The song itself a celebration of all things beyond the physical make up of our bodies, layers deeper than just our flesh and blood.”
Of the video, they add: “When Riffraff presented their concept to us it was a no brainer. We loved their vision of these warped, glitchy, craggy worlds. Their visuals chimed with how we like our music to sound. Obviously we couldn’t be together as a band during lockdown, so the process of trying to erect our green screens (in Gale Force winds) and ‘performing’ alone to our phones was somewhat surreal. Pretending to look around at your band mates and ‘interact’ was an odd experience! The end result though is hugely satisfying, it’s really nice to see us all together again, albeit in a strange, altered reality. Big shout out to Connie Mead for her help with putting this together.”
