girl in red has released a sinister new video for ‘body and mind’

You can find out all about girl in red's imminent debut album in the April issue of Dork, out now.

girl in red has dropped a new video.

‘body and mind’ is a cut from her just-released debut album ‘if i could make it go quiet’, which arrived last month and saw her take the cover of Dork earlier this year.

She says of the song: “It’s that dissonance between your mind and who you are as a person… Sometimes it’s really hard to grasp that we’re actually just humans, even though we take that shit for granted every day. We walk around, eat our breakfast, eat our dinner, we’re talking to people. ‘Body And Mind’ was an outlet to express that I’ve gotten a deeper understanding of what it is to be human. Seeing what happens to your body but you don’t feel that happening to your body — it’s just a really weird thing.”

Of the album, she adds: “if i could make it go quiet is an attempt to learn what it’s like to be human; to deal with the scariest parts of myself; to live with the pain of knowing i’m only flesh and bones; to be angry, broken and unforgiving yet still able to wear my heart on my sleeve; i’m shedding light on the darkest parts of my mind and i’m letting everyone in; if i could make it go quiet is me simply trying to understand what the fuck is going on.”
