To accompany the news, he has dropped the first single from the record, ‘as if’, alongside a video directed by Adrian Villagomez.

The 18-year-old North Carolina native said of the new track: “We made ‘as if’ in December when we thought the album was already done. For a long time, I had been making music about relationships, but I hadn’t been in a relationship in a year and a half at that point, so I was forced to look more inward. This was one of the first songs where I guess I ended up talking about myself and the world from my perspective, rather than other people’s. It’s scary to be honest about who I am and for a long time, I was scared to show anyone the song. But now it’s out and the first single from the album <3.”

The song begins with a sample of actor Timothée Chalamet performing a monologue from the off-Broadway play ‘Prodigal Son’. glaive has previously released three EPs,
