Glass Animals have turned Gnarls Barkley’s ‘Crazy’ into the sultry foot-stomper of the year

  • Dork News Desk
  • February 4, 2017
After delivering an album’s worth of bonafide game-changers, Glass Animals have now turned their moves to Gnarls Barkley with – and we’re sorry for this one but – with ‘Crazy’ results.

Taking on the classic hit, Glass Animals appeared on Aussie radio station Triple J to deliver the number – fusing it with the off-kilter indie-pop sugar that flows through everything they do. Now we can’t even listen to the original without wanting to spin this one.

Our mate Dave from the band talked about the track, saying: “This song has been stuck in my head since i was a tot. i remember it blaring out of the boombox in the school cafeteria as our lunch lady Gladys spooned me some gruel. Once I found a fake fingernail in that slop. Eww. Anyway – the song always had a sadness in it i wanted to try to bring out…but deep down it’s a bit of a dance banger too…so here’s what we came up with!”

So this one goes out to Gladys – who may have just inspired our favourite cover of the year.

Glass Animals are set to return to the UK in March, for their biggest UK headline tour to date – including a big ol’ night at London’s Brixton Academy on March 16th.

Find out more on those dates, along with ‘Crazy’ and a live version of latest groover ‘Pork Soda’ below.
