Go back to the classroom with Winter’s new video for ‘High School’

It's a cut from her upcoming new album.
Winter has released a fantastically retro new video for ‘High School’.

The project of vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Samira Winter, the Colleen Green influenced track’s taken from her PledgeMusic-funded second album, due 6th April, while the clip features typical high school larks and a whole lot of fun.

“We shot the classroom footage almost two years before we shot the VHS footage which was both a wack experience and kinda an advantage,” explains director Peter Ferris Rosati. “It was tough to have to work with footage from so long ago (tho all the kids on set were a blast and Brian Fuller did great work), but it was exciting to take the old cut and think, “Okay, how can we turn this into something more??”

“Saoli Nash, who shot the VHS footage, and Shawn Stoner, who played the instructor, brought such a hilarious and lively feel to the vid. and of course, Samira brought her usual incredibly charismatic performance. What truly leveled this video up was the VFX work done by Cooper Vacheron. He took footage that was fairly straightforward and turned it into an exciting, colorful, comic book feel. If this video is any sort of success, it’s cause of his ideas, style, and hard work. I think we did a good job of tying the two stories together into something really impactful and entertaining.”
