Governors Ball’s final day cancelled following “severe weather”

Sets from Kanye West, Death Cab for Cutie, Chvrches, Courtney Barnett, Two Door Cinema Club and the newly formed Prophets of Rage will not go ahead.
The third day of this year’s Governors Ball Music Festival in New York City has been cancelled due to “severe weather and a high likelihood of lightning in the area.”

Initially the door times for the Sunday of the event were announced as being delayed, before finally being pulled all together.

That means sets from Kanye West, Death Cab for Cutie, Chvrches, Courtney Barnett, Two Door Cinema Club and the newly formed Prophets of Rage will not go ahead. The latter will now play a charity show at Brooklyn’s Warsaw in aid of WhyHunger instead.

It’s the second festival this weekend to be called off due to lightning, following the cancellation of Rock am Ring in Germany.
