Grimes has reportedly made the major label switch, signing to Columbia Records

It would mean leaving the 4AD home through which she released her breakthrough records.

Grimes has signed with Columbia Records, according to reports.

Billboard claims that ‘sources’ say she’s made the switch to a major label, leaving the 4AD home through which she released her most successful records to date, ‘Visions’ (2012), ‘Art Angels (2015) and ‘Miss Anthropocene’ (2020). Before that, she released two albums via Canadian indie Arbutus Records.

Grimes has recently been making a splash for her use of NFT – or non-fungible-tokens – selling 10 digital art pieces for a total of $5.8 million.

Billboard goes on to state both Grimes and Columbia Records have declined to comment.
