London newcomer Harry Stone teams up with Kenny Beats for new single, ‘Love Gone Cold’

  • Stephen Ackroyd
  • October 25, 2021

London newcomer Harry Stone has teamed up with producer Kenny Beats (Vince Staples, slowthai, FKA Twigs) for a brand new single, ‘Love Gone Cold’.

“Love Gone Cold is about imbalance in a relationship,” explains Harry, “where you might really care for someone but they just stop reciprocating, for whatever reason. It’s brutal, but I guess sometimes that’s just how it goes. It felt to me like there was power in being the one saying ‘you’ve gone cold’ and knowing it to be true for someone else, maybe even before they do.”

A break-up-song via the medium of solid gold sad-banger, ‘Love Gone Cold’ was recorded in large part over lockdown between Harry and Kenny.

“I first met Kenny in London, in early 2020 before everything got weird,” Harry reveals. “We skipped through a whole bunch of ideas on my op-1, but it was this funky kick and bass line that popped out, and he tilted his head to one side and was like “Huh!?” as if it were unexpected. That turned into the demo of ‘Love Gone Cold’. I probably wouldn’t have started it if it hadn’t been for that initial nod of approval from Kenny, which is crazy to think about now. We chatted a lot during lockdown, and he helped me finish off the project remotely about 6 months later, his mix and samples bringing the whole track into sharp focus in such an awesome way.”

Harry is currently working on his debut EP to follow in 2022. You can check out ‘Love Gone Cold’ below.
