Harry Styles is set to take the O2 stage next month, having been confirmed as one of the musical performers at the 2023 BRIT Awards.
The star, who first performed at the awards ceremony in 2013 with One Direction, will join fellow performers Sam Smith and Kim Petras (who will perform their collaboration ‘Unholy’ together), and Wet Leg.
This year’s BRIT Awards will mark Styles’ second solo performance at the prestigious event, after playing his ‘Fine Line’ cut ‘Falling’ at the 2020 awards.
Styles has the joint-most nominations at this year’s BRIT Awards alongside Wet Leg with four, including British Album of the Year (for ‘Harry’s House’) and Song of the Year (for lead single ‘As It Was’). His inclusion in the category of ‘Best Pop/R&B Act’ alongside Cat Burns, Charli XCX, Dua Lipa and Sam Smith has sparked controversy, with multiple artists hitting out at a lack of R&B representation in the category.
The controversy has been further exacerbated by the fact that all five nominees for ‘Artist of the Year’ are male, with Central Cee, Fred Again.., George Ezra and Stormzy being nominated alongside Styles.
The 2023 BRIT Awards will take place at the O2 Arena in London on February 11th, hosted by comedian Mo Gilligan.
