Hauskey’s new single ‘Somewhere’ is a serotonin shot of escapism

The Aussie alt-popster's latest effort is a lovely time.

We love a good Aussie alt-popster, Dear Reader. And look! Ahoy! Over there! There’s a fresh one coming up now!

He’s called Hauskey, and has just dropped a brand new single, ‘Somewhere’. It’s the follow up to his debut release, ‘Slow’, and is a real lovely time. The kind of track you’d make if you too came from somewhere sunny, not a damp grey island in the Northern Hemisphere, you can check it out below.

Speaking about the track, Hauskey explains: “I wrote Somewhere during week three of lockdown in Sydney. It was such an escape for me, that once I finished the first demo, I sat there for hours and just looped it over and over. It’s as much about physically wanting to get away, as needing to get out of my own head and stop thinking about every single negative thing that 2020 has thrown at us.

“It’s a short retreat, in a long year.”

So there we go.

An EP will follow, apparently. More on that ‘soon’.
