Hear Johnny Lloyd’s new ‘Eden EP’ in full

The former Tribes frontman is about to drop his second solo EP.
Ex-Tribes frontman Johnny Lloyd is back with his second solo EP ‘Eden’. The follow-up to last year’s ’Dreamland’ EP, it’s out this Friday (14th April), but you can have a sneaky listen a bit early below, first on Dork.

“It felt like a progression from the ‘Dreamland’ EP,” says Johnny of the release. “Like most artists I’m just trying to move forward.”

‘Eden’ was recorded with The Maccabees’ Hugo White, and also Mike Crossey, who’s previously worked with both The 1975 and Wolf Alice.

“It was amazing working with Hugo White again,” he continues, “and it was the first time I’ve worked with Mike Crossey since Tribes first album ‘Baby’. I loved the whole process and it felt really collaborative between Hugo and I this time.”

Unsurprisingly perhaps, his favourite song on the EP is the title-track. “It has a special place for me. It was the culmination of a few different songs on a weird and wonderful trip through California I took in 2015. It ended with me meeting up with Mike again by chance and recording ‘Eden’ in a couple of days before I flew home.”

You can catch Johnny performing his new material at Live At Leeds later this month. Visit liveatleeds.com for all the info, and enter Dork’s competition for tickets here.
