Holly Humberstone has been announced as the winner of this year’s BRITs Rising Star award

She's also joined up with Sam Fender for a new version of his single 'Seventeen Going Under'

Holly Humberstone has been announced as the winner of this year’s BRITs Rising Star award.

The former Dork cover star – who has released two EPs to date – took the prize over Bree Runway and Lola Young, who also made the three-act shortlist, as chosen by a panel of industry experts.

“I remember watching the BRITs with my parents each year and being totally awe struck by the artists coming together in what felt like another universe,” Holly explains. “Now to be named the BRITs Rising Star and nominated alongside two other incredible women, with the songs that started within those four walls at home is so mad. It just doesn’t feel real. This year has been a wild ride and a year of firsts, and I am so grateful and thankful for everyone who has helped make this happen!”

Following on from last year’s winner Griff, Holly was given the news by 2019 winner Sam Fender, with whom she’s performed a special version of his recent single ‘Seventeen Going Under’. You can check out both the reveal and that new version, below.

The BRIT Awards 2022 will take place on 8th February 2022 at London’s O2.
