Leeds collective Holodrum have revealed a brand new single, ‘No Dither’.
The act, made up of members of Hookworms, Yard Act, Cowtown, Virginia Wing, Drahla and more, are set to release their self-titled debut album on Friday, 25th February.
Synth and bass player Matthew Benn explains, “If memory serves me correctly ‘No Dither’ was the first song we ever wrote together. The idea of the group was still in its very early stages at that point; we were tentatively writing together for the first time at Cowtown’s rehearsal space in Spring 2019. I’m not even sure that Em and Steve had properly joined Holodrum by then.”
“My favourite part of the song is Sam’s call and response section towards the end,” he continues. “Those lyrics were originally meant to just be a placeholder but they ended up sticking. I do the vocals on that part with Sam when we play live, and it’s the only time I’ve ever had to keep a lyric sheet on stage with me as it’s genuinely like a gibberish language and thus impossible to remember. Twin Peaks Red Room style.”
