Homeschool kicks off tomorrow – the running times are out, plus the final wave of acts

Tune in this weekend for a ridic number of acts.

It’s almost time. Tomorrow sees the opening bell ring on Homeschool – our online music festival that takes place across the May bank holiday weekend. So, to make sure we’re all ready for class, we’re announcing a bunch more names and alternative programming.
New Zealand’s The Naked And Famous will be offering up a set with tunes from across their career, while Diet Cig bring a feverish energy and immediate warmth just over a week after the release of second album ‘Do You Wonder About Me?’. LA’s The Aces will play an unforgettable set as they ready themselves for second album ‘Under The Influence’, while favourite Benjamin Francis Leftwich brings a soothing performance to the Homeschool stage. There’ll be singalong indie hits from We Are Scientists and Ash, too.

Across the board, there are trailblazers such as Do Nothing (fresh from the release of their jaw-dropping EP ‘Zero Dollar Bill’), The Mysterines, Disq, The Blinders, PVA, Brooke Bentham, The Academic, Mae Muller, One True Pairing, Best Ex, Indoor Pets, Chappaqua Wrestling, GIRLI, Lola Young, Cautious Clay, Isaac Dunbar, Palaye Royale, Dead Pony, Luke La Volpe and many more. There’s a lot, okay?

Alongside 200 or so acts performing exclusive sets as a part of Homeschool, an unmissable array of programming is announced today as a part of Homeschool Radio. The Murder Capital take part in an intimate programme exploring the sounds that made them what they are today (Inside The Murder Capital: The Records That Made Us), while the revered Orlando Weeks will be curating a special Isolation Playlist, while The Meaning Of LIFE (w/ LIFE) dips into the everyday thoughts of LIFE frontman Mez. Nasty Cherry FM features the breakout band chatting on life, music and more – while on Talk Show’s Death Row Diner get ready for a laugh out loud guide to last meals, final drinks and ‘more’. Factor in Matt Maltese: Smells Like Quarantine Spirit for a whizzing trip into the sounds of now – and a whole load more – and Homeschool Radio is packed with essential listening to plug into throughout the day.

It wouldn’t be Homeschool without more alternative entertainment, right? With the likes of Fickle Friends’ Yoga Class, Jerry Paper’s Cat Tricks and Walt Disco’s Late Night Lockdown Extravaganza already announced – a wealth of new offerings have been announced today. Get the lowdown on the new album from Spain’s band of the moment with Hinds: The Making Of The Prettiest Curse, check into The Magic Of Creeper with a guide from frontman Will, turn away from the TV and plug into our own Points Of View: Spoort Special and get the real scoop on those essential hair questions with Dylan Cartlidge Presents: Everything You Wanted To Ask A Man With An Afro. With tutorials, guitar lessons, drum lessons and more from the likes of Milk Teeth, Margaret Glaspy and Mellah – there’s every form of entertainment to discover across the Homeschool weekend.

Want to see some of your favourite acts chat away live too? Well, tune into our Instagram Live on Sunday as Dork’s Liam James Ward chats to the likes of Love Fame Tragedy, Bloxx, Marsicans and Jaws on all things life under lockdown.

With further special guests still to come, these new additions add to an unmissable weekend of entertainment across the board – with the previously announced The Amazons, Circa Waves, Tom Grennan, SWMRS, mxmtoon, L Devine, Love Fame Tragedy, Boston Manor, Will Joseph Cook, whenyoung, Grouplove, Bloxx, Bad Sounds, Cavetown, Gengahr, The Night Cafe and nearly 200 more acts. Yes, we’ve been busy.

In addition to showcasing a range of incredible performances, Homeschool is also raising much-needed awareness of the incredible work of frontline medical staff and volunteers here in the UK – encouraging donations to the NHS Charities Together Covid-19 Urgent Appeal throughout the weekend. More information on the appeal can be found here.
