Teenage trio HotWax have released their latest single, ‘Drop’.

The track is the band’s first new offering since their debut EP ‘A Thousand Times’, and comes alongside a UFO-themed music video directed by Josh Quinton, showcasing the band in Fall ‘23 Charles Jeffrey attire (oooo, swish – Ed).

My aim for this video was to create an explosive & exciting journey through the band members’ brains that matches the exhilarating energy of the song, whilst also fusing their own personal style with my love for trashy 70s B movies and 90s kids TV” explains Josh; “I wanted to use the symbolism of space travel to represent the band’s momentum and fresh landing into the world whilst adhering to a strong DIY ethos and reaching maximum altitudes of fun.”

HotWax have been active on the festival circuit already this year, with performances at The Great Escape, Mad Cool, Dot To Dot, and Visions. They’re set to play at All Points East and will headline the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading + Leeds. They’ll also be supporting Royal Blood on their North America and UK tours this autumn.

On top of all that, they’ll also be headlining Dork’s Home & Away shows this September. Joined by The Rills, they’ll perform at at London’s Colours Hoxton on 13th September, then Manchester’s Deaf Institute a day later on 14th September. The bill will be rounded off with yet more fresh talent – in Manchester with Bandit, and with a London guest we’ll tell you about in the coming weeks. Keep your eyes open for that. Tickets for the shows are on sale now, priced at just £9 plus booking fee. You can grab London tickets via Dice, and Manchester tickets via Fatsoma. We’ll see you there.
