IDER have shared a video for their single, ‘You’ve Got Your Whole Life Ahead Of You Baby’.
The duo – Megan and Lily – are currently working on their debut full-length, and this is the first track to be released from those sessions.
“The idea for the video came from a photoshoot we did with our friend Lottie Turner in her back garden in East London,” the band explain. “The garden has so much character, filled with random furniture and objects that have been collected and abandoned over time in a house typically belonging to some twentysomething-year-olds. This made it a really creative space for a shoot and inspired our first ideas for the video.
“We loved the idea of the contradiction of stylized imagery and a sense of otherworldly glamour against the scruffy London backdrop and mundane activities. It kind of mirrors the feelings of irony in the song, wishing you could live your life the way you think your future self would want you to – carefree, nonchalant, and not giving a fuck – when in reality we are all anxious and confused and not sure what to do with ourselves.”
You can catch them at Village Underground in London on 2nd October.
