IDLES and Heavy Lungs are putting out a mutually appreciative 7″

Friends write songs about each other.

IDLES are set to release a split 7″ with their mates and musical inspirations Heavy Lungs.

IDLES’ standout banger ‘Danny Nedelko’ is named after Heavy Lungs’ frontman, and now the Bristol punks have returned the favour with a new track ‘Blood Brother’, written about IDLES frontman Joe Talbot.

Obviously, the two songs had to be released on the same 7″, and that’s exactly what is happening. Released via Joe’s own label Balley Records and Partisan Records on 30th November, you can check out ‘Blood Brother’ below.

The two bands hit the road for a sold out UK tour together next week. The dates read:

16 Bristol, SWX
18 London, O2 Forum Kentish Town
19 Manchester, O2 Ritz
20 Glasgow, O2 ABC
23 Newcastle, Riverside
24 Leeds, Leeds University Stylus

26 Birmingham, Institute
