Interpol are touring. Interpol are playing in the UK. And they’re playing their classic debut album ‘Turn On The Bright Lights’ in full.
No, this isn’t a dream – this is actual happening.
The trio have announced an extensive European tour to mark the album’s 15th anniversary, which include two cracking UK shows at London’s Alexandra Palace on September 1st and Manchester’s Albert Hall on September 3rd.
The band announced the shows, along with the information that they’re currently working on a new album set for release in Summer 2018, saying:
“The word is out, we’re celebrating 15 years since the release of ‘Turn On The Bright Lights’ by playing the record in its entirety during a select run of shows across Europe and the UK late this summer. We’re currently working on a new Interpol record which we look forward to sharing with you in 2018, in the meantime we hope to see some of you at the shows this Summer.”
What a wonderful Monday. ‘Turn On The Bright Lights’ has become a bonafide classic since its release in 2002, so you can imagine just how sensational these shows are going to be.
Tickets are on sale from Friday, with the full run of dates just below one of the album’s absolute stormers ‘Obstacle 1’.
