Is Arctic Monkeys’ new album out in May, and are they going to run the whole thing via fan photo?

  • Dork News Desk
  • March 15, 2018
It seems like Arctic Monkeys’ new album press campaign might be 100% based around sneaky photos with fans.

Following news last week that Alex Turner had run into a fan, telling him a new single was due “soon”, this week we’re getting an update from drummer Matt Helders.

As well as revealing he likes cheesy chips and gravy, he also apparently let slip the next Arctic Monkeys album is due in May. He really should be more careful with that kind of information. It might get on the internet, and on to music news websites. And he wouldn’t want that to happen, now would he?

Now, this could all be a coincidence, or we could all be being played with the most drawn out Artcic Monkeys press campaign since that time they announced every smallest detail of an album one press release at a time. It’s all a game, Dear Reader. All of it.

Currently, Arctic Monkeys’ only UK date is at TRNSMT later this summer, but it’s likely there are more on the way. The band have already confirmed runs in Europe and the US, while rumours of a big homecoming show came and went. Keep ’em peeled for more – next up, Nick O’Malley sings a fan the chorus to their comeback single via Snapchat at Morrisons’ pie counter. Probably.
