You busy on 16th January 2020, Dear Reader? You are now, because we’re pretty sure something The 1975 shaped is going down.
We know this, due to this page on the BBC Radio 1 website which popped up overnight on ‘the Google’. It suggests that’s the date Matty, George, Adam and Ross will be delivering something new on the radio. It’s a Thursday too – i.e. New Music Friday eve – so we’re pretty damn confident we’re onto something here.
There’s a screengrab here, in case it gets pulled.

Described as Hottest Record Live, it’s possible we’ll even get whatever-it-is actually performed. We’re speculating. Speculation is cool.
The new track, if that is what it is, would be the fourth to arrive from the forthcoming ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’, which is set for release next year. It’ll follow up on the Greta Thunberg featuring opener ‘The 1975’, the rambunctious ‘People’ and the blippy bloppy deep bop ‘Frail State of Mind’.
