Scissor Sisters’ frontman Jake Shears has shared ‘Sad Song Backwards’, the latest single from his upcoming solo album.
The self-titled full-length will arrive on 10th August, having already been previewed by ‘Creep City’, and seen him book a load of UK tour dates.
On the track, Shears says, “This is simultaneously one of the most upbeat and one of the darkest songs I’ve ever written. It’s about someone going through a very rough patch to say the least. I read somewhere that if you’re really sad, to just walk around smiling really big, and it will release some kind of endorphin to make you feel better. But then you end up looking like a total psycho. This song is basically the equivalent.”
