Jimmy James Blake has dropped a brand new sort-of-surprise EP, ‘Before’.
Following up on 2019’s full-length ‘Assume Form’, the four-track release was revealed only 24 hours before its arrival, and echoes back to his early work ‘in the clubs’. It was recorded from his LA home studio, and features a few ‘big name collabs’.
Those include composer Nico Muhly, Mount Kimbie and Flatbush Zombies’ Erick Arc Elliott. ‘Before’ also features additional production and arrangement from Blake’s long-term girlfriend, Jameela Jamil.
