Jehnny Beth has revealed another storming cut from her debut solo album, along with a self-shot music video, in ‘Heroine’
Shot in subways, water and featuring childhood footage too (as well as being directed by Jehnny and collaborator Johnny Hostile) – it’s a video that matches perfectly with the shuffling beats and tones of a track showcasing the breadth in Jehnny Beth’s world right about now.
Speaking about the video, Jehnny said: “We couldn’t plan that the current worldwide circumstances would push us to make this video entirely ourselves at home, but sometimes working with constrains is the best fuel, and it fits perfectly with the positive message of self-belief and resilience of the song, pursuing childhood dreams and destiny.”
Co-written with collaborator Johnny Hostile and The xx’s Romy, the track follows ‘I’m The Man’, ‘Flower’ and ‘Innocence’ as teasers of what’s to come from Jehnny’s debut solo release – now set to land on June 12th
