joan usher in news of new EP ‘cloudy’ with scorching pop bop ‘want u back’

Their second EP is out on August 6th

After sharing a string of sizzling new numbers, joan have confirmed details of a brand new EP ‘cloudy’ – along with revealing another new scorcher in ‘want u back’

After revealing the likes of ‘love me better’ and ‘magnetic’ over the past month or so, ‘want u back’ is another slice of big pop energy – bound to be stuck on repeat in no time. Complete with a new music video that sees the duo get right into cloning, ‘want u back’ is a track about “the person you can’t seem to let go of, even though letting go may be the best thing you could do”.

‘want u back’ arrives with news of their second EP ‘cloudy’, set for release on August 6th and sitting as the follow-up to 2018’s ‘porta’. Speaking about the EP, joan says that it’s “an ep about seasons. created in the fall, introduced live in the winter, finished in the spring, released in the summer. we made “cloudy” to tell a story of one relationship and the fact that love can be messy but so beautiful. you know you shouldn’t be with them right now, but you *have* to be with them, right now. as we were finishing the record, we were forced to be in quarantine and spend more time at home. we both took to walking every evening, and would text each other pictures of the sky while doing it. it felt like the name for the ep had fallen in our laps after talking about it one day. clouds can create a beautiful or terrifying scene, they can bring refreshing rain or a destructive storm. when you see clouds, it’s probably not great at the moment, but it will get better. that’s what this ep is about – getting better, growth, loving harder, and learning from mistakes.”
