Joey Maxwell has debuted his brand new Jedward-inspired video for ‘my self’

It's a fun one.

Joey Maxwell has released a new video for ‘my self’.

The Jedward-inspired clip reflects an introspective song focussed on overcoming insecurity, throwing off unhealthy comparisons, getting misled by social media and the like.

The buzzy south London newcomer explains: “For the video, initially what sprung to mind was a failed Jedward Eurovision or a Chas and Dave style catastrophe. Having the two versions of me was a cool way to show the individual personalities of my internal alter egos.

“Benji, the director, really elevated the idea with the ‘peep show’ style camera techniques and got a good performance out of me on the shoot day as it was a pretty manic day, which involved me wrestling the body double a couple of times.

“I’m super happy with the end result, the video amplifies what the song is about thematically but also injects some humour, and I think those are the best kind of videos.”

Give it a watch below, and keep an eye on this one – he’s gearing up for a big 2021.
