Just Mustard have released a music video for ‘Blue Chalk’, a track from the Irish rock group’s 2022 LP, ‘Heart Under’.
The Irish five-piece were featured on Dork’s 2020 Hype List, and went on to great critical acclaim with the follow-up to their 2018 debut LP, ‘Wednesday’. Dork’s 4-star review of ‘Heart Under’, which was initially released in May of this year, said, “it’s easy to get lost in the shoegazy aura, but the unconventional guitar croons soon bring you right back to the moment”.
The new visuals were realized alongside friend-of-the-band Seán McMahon and directed by vocalist Katie Ball, who shared: “‘Blue Chalk’ defines the heaviness that the whole of ‘Heart Under’ exists beneath. The kind that comes with grief and you feel like you are trying to navigate life with the weight of the sea on your chest keeping you down.”
“I wanted to make this video since we started writing ‘Heart Under’ and to me it visually represents a lot of the emotion in the album,” she added. “It was filmed in 4 hours in freezing cold water with the help of our friend Seán McMahon.”
