So, Dear Reader. Remember Lazarus Kane? Sure you do – we featured him back in our Hype section last year. It was pretty nuts. Well, he’s back, but with a difference.
Dropping the American schtick, they’re (yes, it’s a six-piece band now – Ed) breaking cover with a brand new track, ‘Milk At My Door’. A bright, bombastic reintroduction for an act never lacking in character, it’s a first taster of a debut EP, ‘Psychobabble’, set to arrive this September on So Young.
Following up on last year’s swagger-tastic ‘Night Warking’, frontman Ben Jakes – FKA the eponymous Lazarus Kane – explains: “It felt disingenuous to continue the character with the current state of the world. Instead, I wanted to really hold a mirror to the often darkly comedic and surreal ways in which we deal with difficult situations, especially within our often extremely comfortable, materially focused and self-absorbed lives”.
Alongside the new track, the band have announced a first-ever headline tour this October, following on from their run with PVA and Folly Group this July.
