Lizzo is set to return to SNL as both host and musical guest

She will take to the famous New York stage on 16th April

Lizzo will be returning to SNL on April 16th, pulling a double shift as both host and musical guest on the same night.

As previously reported, Lizzo took to social media only last week to confirm that her album is finally finished. This, plus the SNL announcement, suggest that we can expect new music from Lizzo very soon indeed. She released ‘Rumours’ with Cardi B in August of last year.

‘Double duty’ on SNL is a relatively rare thing indeed, and something only a small number of chosen few have pulled off (google says 43 – Ed). Recently, Billie Eilish and Harry Styles have taken on the massive task.

Speaking about her new music recently, Lizzo said “Broadly, I’ve been working on this album since the summer of 2018. It has evolved to a place where I’m proud. It’s one of the most musically badass, daring and sophisticated bodies of work I’ve done to date.”
