Leeds newcomers L’Objectif have dropped a debut single, ‘Drive In Mind’.

Signing to Chess Club Records, the band’s first offering proper comes alongside a video, directed by Daniel Broadley.

Consisting of schoolmates Saul Kane and Louis Bullock – who first joined up to form a band at the age of 12 – as well as Ezra Glennon and Dan Richardson, none of the group are older than 17.

They explain of the track: “I started thinking about drive-in cinemas and those massive screens that they have with everyone parked watching the events of the film unfold. The idea of people coming to watch the contents of someone’s mind was interesting to me, the thoughts, anxieties and all the things you don’t want people to see exposed on a big screen. The lyrics are statements, ideas and observations that I was thinking around the time I wrote it, a cluster of thoughts exposed and amplified through song.”

So there you go.

L’objectif will play a socially distanced hometown show at Leeds’ The Wardrobe on 27th May. You can check out ‘Drive In Mind’ below.
