London collective Steam Down have returned with a new single, ‘Overcome’

The track was released on November 23rd via Decca.

South East London musical collective Steam Down have dropped their resilient comeback single, ‘Overcome’.

It is the multi-faceted group’s first new material since their debut EP, ‘Five Fruit’, arrived in 2021. The collective was initially formed from a weekly event held to cultivate a music community, connecting an ever-growing group of London-based musicians and producers.

Founder Ahnansé has shared: ”over the past few years things have been difficult for many of us. We wrote this track to help overcome life’s hardships and to spark that fire in our bellies to push even harder. This is not a political message, it is a message for people, for society, for all of us who have struggled through being isolated in lockdown or otherwise, being made redundant, livelihoods taken away and the uncertainty of not knowing what’s next in our current times.”

“We may not know what’s happening next, but we can trust the resilience we as humans have shown throughout history, to make it through the most difficult of circumstances and situations,” they add. “‘Overcome’ was written as an important reminder and consistent affirmation, that we will make it through.”
