London’s KOKO announces April £70 million reopening plans, shows from Jorja Smith, Omar Apollo, Remi Wolf and more

The Camden venue will open its doors after an extensive refit next month.

London venue KOKO has revealed its reopening plans following a £70 million restoration and redevelopment.

The Camden venue will reopen its doors this April for an “opening season” featuring Jorja Smith, Remi Wolf, Omar Apollo, Lianne La Havas, TEMS, Kim Gordon, DJ Shadow, GoGo Penguin, Portico Quartet, Mulate Astatke and The Beat.

Lianne La Havas said: “KOKO has been truly missed. It’s one of my favourite London venues and many of my favourite artists have played there.  Having always wanted to do my own show at KOKO, I’m excited that I now have the opportunity to do that”.

Nick Lewis, KOKO’s Head of Music adds: “I’m so excited about our opening season and the quality and eclectic nature of our line ups. Putting together this mix of talent is exactly what we love doing.”

The venue has also announced a new KOKO Electronic brand to run on Fridays and Saturdays until 6am. Confirmed to play are Todd Terje (2nd July), Jayda G (7th May), 2ManyDJs, Kerri Chandler (28th May), India Jordan (13 May), Optimo (13th May) and Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards (14th May).
