London venue The Lock Tavern is going to close at the end of this month.
There hasn’t been an official statement yet, but the venue’s bookers, Lanzarote, have reportedly confirmed the closure to Time Out.
The Camden institution, which is just down the road from Camden Assembly (FKA Barfly), is closing its doors on 28th August, with a farewell show hosted by Blogger’s Delight the day before, featuring sets from Casper C, Skull Juice and NikNikNik, as well as Filthy Dukes, Matt Walsh and special guests.
“7 years after we drew the curtain on the Blogger’s Delight era, news reaches us that our hallowed turf, The Lock Tavern, has been sold on, and will cease to exist at the end of this month,” reads the event’s blurb.
“We’re not normally ones to look back, but the opportunity to play the final records at the venue was too good an opportunity to resist.
“Soooo, for one night only, and very much in spite of popular demand, we’ll be donning our Blogger’s hats one last time, and inviting some of our favourite previous guests to join us. You can expect pub-grub, pear cider, questionable fashion choices and perhaps a few illegally downloaded MP3 classics.”
