Earlier this month, The Maccabees announced they were calling it a day after 14 years.
“There have not been fallings out,” they explained, “and we are grateful to say that we are not leaving the group behind as a divided force.”
Now the band’s Felix White has published a letter to fans, thanking them for all their support and chatting a bit about his time in the band, and their eventual parting of ways.

“Personally, given the chance I probably would take back shouting ‘FELIX!” down the microphone to a very silent but very full Birmingham NIA (supporting Ben Folds, ten years ago) when asked by someone in the front row, ‘What’s your name?”, him just trying to point out we hadn’t told the crowd what the band were called yet.”
