Matt Berry off of the telly has done a new album of classic TV themes

  • Dork News Desk
  • July 23, 2018

Matt Berry ‘off of the telly’ is releasing a new album of reimagined classic TV themes.

The BAFTA winning actor – who you’ll know from ‘things’ like Toast of London and The IT Crowd – also has a nice side-line in making music. His latest full-length sees him taking on themes from television shows, turning them into something all together new.

Recorded at his newly built studio (these actors, eh?) with regular band The Maypoles, ‘Television Themes’ includes versions of TV faves from the 70s and 80s, including ‘Are You Being Served?’, ‘Blankety Blank’, ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘Top of the Pops’.

Ask your parents, kids.

The collection will be released on 5th October via Acid Jazz Records. You can check out his take on ‘Are You Being Served’, alongside the record’s track listing, below.

‘Television Themes’ tracklist:

Are You Being Served? (1972-1985)
