Valentine’s Day is special. Not just because of lovely cards and gifts, though they’re nice to get, but also because Matty Healy suggested we might get something from The 1975‘s alter egos Drive Like I Do today.
Of course, that looks like it’s not happening – but we do have an update from Young Matthew.
Posting to his Instagram stories, the frontman has revealed the band are “finishing DLID today”, before going on to add: “it’s not a full album you guys r crazy”.
Of course, given the fact The 1975’s last record ‘Notes on a Conditional Form’ was 22 tracks long, we expect an EP-or-whatever will be at least 12 songs. Science and maths, yeah?
Regardless, while we may not get new music today – it looks like we’re definitely going to get music from Drive Like I Do in the near future. That’s enough of a Valentine’s present for us.
