Mauv has shared a new single, ‘Young Buck’.

The track is taken from new album ‘Armageddon’, which is set to arrive on 6th April.

Speaking about ‘Young Buck’, he explains: “I tried to create an industrial, robotic feel from acoustic instruments. The lyrics came later in the process, and came from a cramped, lost, angry state of mind that could only have been brought forward by the pandemic in a time where I already felt lost creatively. The words don’t entirely make sense, and most came from an almost stream of consciousness style. This track always felt like an appropriate opener to the album due to it’s mechanical, doomsday-ish delivery, I felt it could set the perfect tone to the LP”

Forming Mauv in 2019, the project is driven by Tom Kellett. Kellett describes a process in which Mauv afforded a turning point in how he made music. “It was a crucial point for me creatively. Up till then, I hadn’t really ever understood how I was meant to write music for myself, and probably spent most of my time mimicking other artist and dressing it up as my own”.
