Mellah has dropped a new tune ahead of his upcoming gigs

He's playing a string of five shows later this month.

Mellah has released a new track – check out ‘What It Is’ below.

“‘What It Is’ is essentially about remaining hopeful in the face of seeming hopelessness,” he says. “On a daily basis we’re faced with a torrent of injustice and oppression from all around the world, it’s so easy to feel overwhelmed.

“I started writing the track from a place of trying to stay hopeful within myself but it progressed into a sort of wider call to arms to keep on fighting for those with less means to fight for themselves.

“To keep hope in the possibility of change and not to become complacent and subsequently complicit.”

The tune arrived ahead of his upcoming headline tour, which will see him kick off at Rough Trade in Nottingham on 15th October.

The details are:

OCTOBER
15 Rough Trade Nottingham, Nottingham
16 The Eagle, Manchester
17 Oslo, Hackney, London
18 The Castle and Falcon, Birmingham
20 Simple Things Festival @ Rough Trade Bristol, Bristol
