Has MIA pulled out of Afropunk London?

MIA could be MIA at the Ally Pally event this September
With Afropunk London only announced last week, there was one name that caused a load of controversy as the event’s headliner, and now it appears MIA may be pulling out of the event all together.

Taking to Twitter today, the Londoner seemed to imply that enough was well and truly enough, casting a load of doubt over her scheduled appearance on 24th September.

It comes after many pointed out recent comments made by the ‘Bad Girls’ hitmaker, who discussed the Black Lives Matter movement in an interview with ES Mag in April.

With neither side commenting at this time, it’s well and truly wait-and-see time.

Afropunk London is set to go ahead with or without MIA on 24th September at Alexandra Palace.
