Miss Tiny have released their debut EP.
The London-based duo – consisting of producer/guitarist Dan Carey and vocalist/drummer Benjamin Romans-Hopcraft (Childhood, Warmduscher) – have shared ‘DEN7’ in full, plus a new video for featured track ‘River Hands’.
Speaking about the EP, Romans-Hopcraft says: “The name DEN7 comes from a randomly named jam of song that defined the band’s sound at the time. I guess we felt the project had been a collection of files in a vault that had been building for over 10 years. The EP for us represents turning what felt like a load of ideas into a simple idea that felt meaningful.”
Commenting on the ‘River Hands’ video, director Alexander Milo Bischof adds: “I love Miss Tiny, and after hearing ‘River Hands’ at one of their shows I knew I wanted to work with Ben and Dan. We got on a call when the guys mentioned that they had just finished playing ping pong – albeit not very well – and the idea of setting the video around that was born. We managed to get two Top 100 England table tennis players involved while shooting the whole thing on both 4K and Hi8. The idea was to get across an abstract imposter-like feeling of unease and distraction in search of an identity. But maybe it’s just about wanting to be an incredible table tennis player.”
