Mysie has shared a brand new track, ‘birthstones’ – listen

  • Stephen Ackroyd
  • March 16, 2022

Mysie has shared a brand new track, ‘birthstones’.

The song is lifted from the upcoming EP ‘joyride’. set for release on 13th May.

“It’s about a period of time in lockdown when my relationship was going through a lot of pressure. due to the uncertainty of what was going to happen to our lives” explains Mysie. “In this song I’m really saying, I will fight for you and be here for you”.

“The opening chords gave me this warm, nostalgic feeling, kinda reminiscent of Carole King. I was listening to a lot of Koffi Olomide at the time, which I think comes out in the rhythms too”.

Mysie is set to hit the road next month, supporting Corinne Bailey Rae, before full band performances at The Great Escape in May, and her own headline show at London’s Courtyard Theatre on 16th June.
