Neighbourhood Weekender has shared the first names for 2023, including Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott, Pulp and The Kooks

  • October 28, 2022

The first wave of artists set to play Neighbourhood Weekender in 2023 have just been announced.

The festival is set to take place in Warrington’s Victoria Park on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th May 2023.

Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott have claimed the Saturday headline spot, rising up the lineup since previous years after the release of ‘N-K Pop’ earlier this month. The band have played the festival’s Big Top stage in 2019, but will take tracks such as ‘You Keep It All In’ to the main stage for 2023.

The Kooks join them on the Saturday evening, still riding the waves of July’s ‘10 Tracks to Echo in the Dark’. It’s an album that frontman Luke Pritchard told Dork was “probably the most euphoric record we’ve done”, but there is no doubt that The Kooks will call upon their extensive back catalogue of indie summer anthems for the perfect festival set.

It falls to Pulp to see out the festival on Sunday evening, a set that will form part of their return to live music across next summer. With an arsenal of some of the best Britpop tracks of all time under their belt, it’s sure to be an equal parts nostalgic and sheer fun. It’s their first festival date of the year, with rousing performances to be expected later in the season at Latitude and TRNSMT.

Further down the lineup, there are a number of Dork favourites whose sets should not be missed. Liverpool’s STONE look set to deliver a riotous performance to the north after a jam-packed 2022 festival season, whilst their fellow Liverpudlian guitar heroes Courting will undoubtedly showcase the finest moments of their debut album ‘Guitar Music’, rated 4-stars by Dork. Still on a high from her unparalleled second album ‘Prioritise Pleasure’, Self Esteem will also grace the festival on Sunday for what is sure to be a highlight of the weekend.

You can find the initial Neighbourhood Weekender 2023 lineup in full below:

Presale for local festival-goers with a WA1-WA5 postcode will take place on Wednesday 2nd November at 9am. General sale is set for Friday 4th November at 9am. All tickets will be available here.
