The Irish songwriter previews her next chapter with a long-distance love song.
Nell Mescal has released her new single 'Settles' via Atlantic Records. The track arrives ahead of a special pop-up show at Ellie's in Dalston on 20th July, where she'll perform with her guitarist in an intimate setting before appearances at Kendal Calling and All Points East later this summer.
'Settles' captures the emotional weight of a long-distance relationship and the hope that one day the constant airport goodbyes will come to an end. "Settles is a love song about a long distance relationship where it feels like the time spent together is fleeting and that you always seem to be saying goodbye to each other at an airport," Mescal explains.
"It's about the hope that one day the dust will settle, life will get less busy and the two of you will get to be together without any interruptions. It's about reassurance, yearning, hope and loving someone from a distance."
