New Gorillaz is coming “fairly soon”

The teasing continues for the long-awaited new LP.
Not content with dropping hint after hint after hint, Damon Albarn has now spoken about progress on the new Gorillaz record – boldly announcing that it’ll be coming “fairly soon”.

Talk about being specific eh?

Speaking to BBC 6Music, Albarn has given an insight as to how recording has been going, saying: “I’m loving it and it’s getting there”.

“Later in the year we’ll be starting to get the whole Gorillaz thing together,” he continued.

It comes after the other half of Gorillaz – Jamie Hewlett – seemed to claim that the album will be hitting the shelves in 2017. If correct, that would mean 7 whole years has passed since the last Gorillaz record ‘The Fall’ came out as a free download on Christmas Day.
